Frequently Asked Questions
Q: To where will you ship? A: Anywhere in the world, as long as you're willing to pay for the shipping! Yes, even to Spain and Italy, unlike many sellers out there.
Q: What's up with that Snowman card ("No Image Yet Available")? A: For my listings I use photos that I have taken myself, or cards I have actually had in my possession. I call this my "virtual collection." This collection is far from complete (especially in the Foil category), so I needed something to put in place of a photo for these cards. Thus I created No Image Yet Available to act as filler until I can, some day, own a copy of that card and take a photo to use for listings. The snowman was just a random photo one of my sons had taken after the blizzard of January 2010, and doesn't have any hidden meaning of any sort.
Q: Can I pay by Credit Card? I don't have/want to use a PayPal account. A: Absolutely. What you do is simply choose "PayPal" as your payment option at checkout. Then, when you get to the screen where you are asked to sign in to your PayPal account, you find the "Don't Have a PayPal Account?" banner and click there. You will then be taken to a page where you can enter your credit card information as you would normally.
Q: Do you have a Buy List? A: Sort of. I have a "Buy Policy" instead. Click on the Buy List link at the top of the page to see it.
Q: How can I view the status of my order? A: Go to the Customer Service page, enter the confirmation number for your order in the space provided, and click "Go".
Q: What are your shipping costs? A: I charge shipping based on the weight of the package, which depends on the number of cards you order. Please see my shipping fees chart for details. You can view an estimate of shipping costs by viewing your cart. However, final shipping costs will be displayed on the Invoice you see before confirming your order.
Q: Why is shipping so high for a single card or two? A: I only charge what it costs me to ship, in postage & materials. Unlike many sellers, I mail your cards to you in thick plastic (toploaders or hinged cases), inside bubble-mailer envelopes (many sellers ship unprotected cards in regular envelopes!). For US orders, I get a tracking/confirmation number for the shipment. A 1-ounce package (one or two cards) with tracking costs $1.75 in postage, and I charge $1 for materials (envelope, label, plastic toploaders/cases, etc). So the total is $2.75 for 1 or 2 cards to a US address. As of this writing that same $1.75 will also pay for a 2-ounce or even a 3-ounce package, which is why the US rate is the same for the first three tiers of shipping.
Q: Do you have a physical store I can visit? A: Unfortunately, no. I work out of my basement :-) However, if you are local to the Germantown, MD area and would like to meet at a neutral site (like our local library) you can save on shipping costs by meeting me. Contact me through my Customer Service page to arrange this, BEFORE placing an order. Also, I am the organizer for WPN events at Novel Books in Clarksburg, and Beyond Comics in Gaithersburg. You may choose the "pick up at a WPN event" for free shipping if you want to get your cards at one of these events. Check out my calendar of events to find out when the next event will be.
Q: Can I get tracking for my order? A: For US orders, a tracking number is automatic. For non-US orders, I would need to ship by a more expensive method than my usual, so shipping would be higher. Please contact me if you are interested.
Q: I can't find a card I'm searching for. Do you maybe have it anyway? A: Send me a note (through my Customer Service page) and ask. I may have some new inventory that hasn't been processed yet, and might have your card. If so I'll get it listed for you right away.
Q: I'm interested in a card you have in stock, but the price is way higher than market price. Is there maybe a mistake? A: Quite possibly! I do, unfortunately, sometimes get behind in my pricing, and could have an out-of-date price on that item (post-Standard rotation can really catch me flat-footed). Contact me on the card(s) in question, and I'll take a look and adjust the price if I deem it necessary!
